The city of Bardstown in Nelson County is known as the "Bourbon Capital of the World" has many distilleries of bourbon whisky. The town is also famous as the birthplace for the Stephen Foster's song "My Old Kentucky Home." As there are numerous automotive assembly plants in Kentucky and surrounding states, there are many auto parts manufacturers in Bardstown as well.
